STRIPE

I'm wearing
shoes ALEXANDER WANG
bag 3.1 PHILLIP LIM

Hey cuties! I know. Long time no see...
But after my longest blogging hiatus since 2011, I'm finally ready to make my comeback into the blogosphere.
Traveling always induces me into all kinds of strange blogging and social-media related sloth. And these past two months definitely have not been exempt from this precedent.  In Mid November, Tasfia and I were in Bangladesh, spending time with Family and exploring the country with a few friends from down under. Then we flew to Kenya, to make the trip that my animal loving self has been awaiting for a lifetime. There we lived amidst the Wildlife of the Masai Mara, and frolicked with the cute creatures of the African Savannah. We then migrated straight from savannah to sea, to Phuket, Thailand, where we're enjoying some downtime doing just about nothing.

Now to the focus of this post - this outfit, which I've stalled posting into the WWW for much too long. I am truly a newly converted stripe-wearer, and what I think has really seduced me into the realm of stripes is the charm of those by The Fifth Label. Namely this striped number...

LINEAR

I'm wearing:
top MAURIE AND EVE
shoes ALEXANDER WANG
bag ALEXANDER WANG

These days, stripes have really grown on me.
I've always been a fan of the synergistic effect of double (or triple) ups - all pink, white outs, double leopard or any kind of print accumulation that increases impact-fulness. And now, with the recently flourishing striped sect of my wardrobe, I've been digging the double stripe effect...

CROSSOVER

I'm wearing
bag TORY BURCH
sandals TONY BIANCO
sunglasses KSUBI

These days, culotte + crop top combos have become the absolute go-to, fail-safe, outfit duo for me, to the extent that it has almost become uniform-esque....

INTERLOCK

wearing
top DION LEE Line II
shoes ALEXANDER WANG
bag ALEXANDER WANG

So kudos to Dion Lee for really letting my little fixation with the denim and striped paradigms really flourish - admittedly, It seems I haven't invested in any collection so heavily as I have in this current Dion Lee Line II one. On closer inspection of my last couple of posts, it really seems that my 'style' follows a fairly simplistic formula - dictated primarily by oversized, sleeveless, denim, striped and all white numbers, one perfectly satisfied by the marvels of Dion Lee (and Marquez Almeida) and perfectly topped off by spunky earrings like this 8 Other Reasons pair...

ORBITAL

I'm wearing:
top MAURIE AND EVE
skirt CHRISTOPHER ESBER

sandals TONY BIANCO

These days, I've grown so adamant on building up a basic wardrobe backbone of white (and black) basics that all white pieces seem to predominate in my wardrobe. I'm not complaining, I've really developed a heightened appreciation for the 'white out' effect recently...

INFINITE

I'm wearing:
top MAURIE AND EVE
sandals WINDSOR SMITH

I've been so AWOL from the World Wide Web of late that finally being reunited with it (after three weeks) feels as if I'm a longtime stowaway who has finally reunited with the mainland. As extreme as this this simile may be, it is frighteningly startling how dependent I (and I'm sure, perhaps more than just a few of us) are on the Internet in our daily routines. But I suppose the joys of moving into a brand new place does come with its handful of hiccups.

These days, I've transformed from a girl who never understood the charms of stripes, to one who is smitten with them - and it all began with this marvelous Maurie and Eve number...

IRIDESCENCE

I'm wearing
dress JOSH GOOT
sunglasses KSUBI
sandals TONY BIANCO

Somehow whats currently trending in Fabliha's books at the time, always seems to perfectly align with the aesthetic of Josh Goot seasonal collection. Nowadays I've really been feelin' subtly impactful prints - geometric patterns, tartan, stripes and most of all, check - especially when its this kind of diagonal oversized, sporty rendition by Josh Goot.

But folks, also say hello to my marvellous show-stealer of a new bag, here for the first time on this corner of the World Wide Web. That a bag could be so completely on my wavelength I didn't know was possible. It is also the perfect compact size for all of my neccessities...

BLANCHE

First of all, hallelujah to the fact that after a week, I am finally reunited with the World Wide Web - it seriously feels like an entire epoch though.  Since moving house, we are yet to have our wireless broadband connection set up . This past week has really confronted me with the frightening realization of how much of my daily routine relies on the WWW - I've grown so agitated not being able to blog, download videos, online shop and just procrastinate my heart out online.  So after finally exhausting my iPhone data allowance, I decided that I really needed to take action, so for now, I have one of those Prepaid WIFI modems and can indulge in all those little delicacies the internet brings to our life (well 4GB worth anyway).

Anyway, these marvellous spring days, I've really been 'feeling' two particular fashion paradigms. The first being double denim, and the latter being all white, or in 'technical, "fashun" jargon - the white out effect. These days, I've been learning a few little tricks to conquering monochromatic layering - the first of these being layering with pieces that have unique, interesting silhouettes of their own so that the cumulative effect of the pieces is truly a synergistic one.

BLUE JEAN

It seems that I've been living under some kind of colossal, boulder-esque rock these past few months, because how else could I have been oblivious to the fact that Marques Almeida and Topshop have released a collab collection?

Last weekend, utterly unaware, I ventured into my local Topshop store in Brisbane, to discover the marvels of this collaboration. It felt almost like a fated second chance to get my hands on beautiful pieces akin to those in Marques Almeida's (MA)  main range that I despaired over because I couldn't get my hands on them in time…Plus, it is a further consolation that they are kinder on my bank account than the main MA range and (dare I say) just as fabulous as it - definitely one of those rare collabs that didn't skimp on originality and sass to downsize costs...
I thought I'd be satisfied with just this spunky denim duo but now I'm thinking I need more from the collection…particularly the deliciously delightful sandals
